Jessica and I are planning a weekend away in Manchester; we were working at Sparkle in June and didn’t really get to party and enjoy the bars and clubs. So we’re going back to experience the wonderful Canal Street on a normal weekend (if there is such a thing as normal for Canal Street!).

Timings

We aim to arrive Friday lunchtime, breaking our journey on the way up from the South East, and then leaving early Sunday afternoon.

Very Rough Plan

In the evenings we are planning on dressing up and hitting the clubs and bars. During the day (at least when we’ve climbed out of bed), we’re going to be doing some of the typical tourist activities and perhaps hitting some of the shops.

Our initial thoughts on food are hitting Chinatown on one night and returning to the Refuge, where we had a fantastic meal on the Sunday evening of Sparkle in June.

We’ve been able to get a good deal at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.

Travel To and From Manchester

Our plan is to leave after work on Thursday and drive up to Manchester with an overnight stop at a Premier Inn in Stafford; this means we can arrive at a reasonable time in Manchester without the worries of Friday traffic, ready to enjoy the weekend.
